26 years after the "Abe is dead" scare, Abe Vigoda remains delightfully alive and kicking. Now 87 years old, Vigoda joins the ranks famed academic Claude Lévi-Strauss, John Wooden, Karl Malden, Harry Morgan and Les Paul and old folks who are still alive. "Abe Vigoda found out he was dead in 1982. He was doing a play in Calgary, Alberta, while a People magazine writer visited the "Barney Miller" wrap party in Los Angeles, California. "Somehow it mentioned in the article that 'the late Abe Vigoda' was not [there]," Vigoda recalls." Find out who else is really alive by clicking here.
Abe Vigoda may not be dead, but there's definitely something "fishy" going on between him and Paramount. In the very expensive double VHS offering of the combined Godfather I and II that was put out 20 year ago, there is an elaborate brochure filled with pictures of the cast and crew of both films. Neither Vigoda's name nor his face are anywhere to be seen on this piece, even in the list of credits on the back page. Somebody doesn't care much for the guy and they had him erased.
