Former Dodger Jose Offerman Arrested For Assault On Battery.

After belting a homer in the first inning, former Dodger shortstop and 15 year major league vet Jose Offerman didn't take kindly to being hit by a pitch by an independent league pitcher. Charging the mound Offerman attacked pitcher Matt Beech and catcher John Nathan with his bat, clubbing both. Offerman was arrested and charged with assault. Offerman had been playing with the mighty Long Island Ducks, a refuge for other former big leaguers including Danny Graves, Donovan Osbourne, Carl Everett among others.
